The computer Club wishes to thank those who have made class presentations this year. Appreciation goes to Tom Roule, Jim and Chris Guld of Geeks on Tour, Jerry Wessel, Dona Muller, Jane Low, John Cuthbert, Chuck Barlow and Roxie Marston.
Classes have been held on beginning skills, security, digital pictures, safe computing, Picasa photo editing, GPS systems, social networks, Microsoft shortcuts, copy-paste, computer maintenance, making a blog, streets and trips and favorite site sharing.
Thanks to all volunteers who have come in to assist with the Help sessions on Monday mornings.
A bank of four online computers for public use and a printer have been maintained by club officers.
The club blog, www.htrcomputerclub.blogspot.com has been frequently visited. Computer information will continue on this blog after you are gone from HTR.
Computer classes and help sessions will begin in December 2010.

March 2010 Classes
March ends the computer class season. Three opportunities will be available.
March 17, 2010 you will have the opportunity to “build” your first blog.
When you leave you will have the basics and a handout with ample help as you expand this fun way of communicating. You might want to think of a title for your blog. You will need a G mail address. Ahead of class you may get a G Mail address at www.gmail.com > create an account ahead of class if you wish. Be certain to write down the address you select, your new password, security question answer and such information. If you need help we will provide it in class.
March 24, 2010, Chuck Barlow will present travel and navigation material through several sites featuring streets and trips. Bring your computers to begin travels with help online and your help from your computer.
March 31, 2010 belongs to you and your favorite and helpful sites. Come with web addresses that can be projected on the screen. Topics might be weather, health, travel, postal, map coverages for cell phones, campgrounds and mapping. We will build our own handout that will be printed and/or E mailed to you. E mailing this information gives you quicker access to the sites.

Maintain Your Computer Class March 3, 2010
Learning how to maintain a working computer will be the topic of computer class on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. John Cuthbert will demonstrate how to scan for disk errors, defrag, clean the registry update drivers and when and how to use system restore. A website to update drivers is included. John’s handout gives you these steps.

Senior CompuCare has contacted us to explain their computer education program. Teaching is done by seniors teaching seniors.
